MEMBER for South Barwon Darren Cheesemanv has announced a new bus service from Warralily Shopping Centre to Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre which will see Armstrong Creek residents enjoy more transport options.<\/p>\n
The new route will operate seven days a week once it\u2019s introduced in October, with 16 return services on Monday to Friday, nine return services on Saturday and seven return services on Sunday.<\/p>\n
It will also service Oberon High School and coincide with school bell times to allow students living in the 3217 access to transport during the morning and afternoon school run.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re giving Armstrong Creek locals more options to get to and from where they need to go, as more and more people start to move to the area,\u201d Mr Cheeseman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether it\u2019s connecting with trains from Waurn Ponds to Melbourne, getting to school, work or the shops, this new bus route will provide the people of Armstrong Creek with the transport option they need.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Cheeseman said the service was originally scheduled for delivery early next year, but thanks to the Andrews Labor Government and lobbying efforts, the service will be available earlier than expected.<\/p>\n
The announcement comes on top of the introduction of a Waurn Ponds bus stop along the Apollo Bay to Geelong service at the end of March.<\/p>\n
Mr Cheeseman said the new bus route also builds on the four weekend bus services added to the timetable in August last year.<\/p>\n
