MORE than 350 people turned out for Portarlington Football and Netball Club\u2019s first ever Demon Ball Drop at the weekend, which raised an impressive $10,000 for the day.<\/p>\n
The club sold 200 tickets for the ball drop on Sunday, with Brad Vagg taking out first prize for $5000, second prize of $1500 went to Paul McGrath and Jesse Smith won $500 for coming third.<\/p>\n
Friends, families, players and supporters were invited to take part on Sunday by buying a ticket which had a number on it.<\/p>\n
That number was then written on a golf ball, which was dropped from a boom lift with all the other golf balls – the ball closest to the golf pin on the ground won a prize.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, senior coaches Jesse Smith (Portarlington) and Kane Tenace (Geelong Amateur) braved the Ice Bucket Challenge after Saturday\u2019s game to help raise money for the fight against MND.<\/p>\n
