THOUSANDS of bike riders will pass through Geelong and the Bellarine on Sunday for the 25th birthday of Australia\u2019s biggest bike ride – Bicycle Network\u2019s Around the Bay.<\/p>\n
Riders are travelling from all over Australia to celebrate the silver anniversary of Around the Bay by riding one of nine separate ride options that range from 25 kilometres to 250 kilometres.<\/p>\n
More than 300 families will join the 25-kilometre ride, while thousands will ride the classic routes all the way around Port Philip Bay.<\/p>\n
Bicycle Network general manager of events Rebecca Lane said the 25th Around the Bay would be one big bicycle party and was not to be missed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re expecting a huge turnout of riders and will be remembering all the years gone by and celebrating with a few special surprises.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you\u2019ve ridden Around the Bay in the past or have been thinking about riding one day, this is the year to do it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no better time to take the famous two-wheeled journey around Port Phillip Bay.\u201d<\/p>\n
The start line, finish line and festival are all located at Alexandra Gardens.<\/p>\n
The ride will fully circumnavigate Port Phillip Bay.<\/p>\n
Rest stops are located along the route, including at Mordialloc, Frankston, Werribee, and Geelong. Ferries will ship riders between Queenscliff and Sorrento. <\/p>\n
