Police arrest man in Torquay<\/p>\n

POLICE found and arrested a man in possession of weapons and drugs in Torquay on Friday morning. Patrolling Torquay officers came across a man slumped in the front seat of a white Ford station wagon parked on Messmate Road about 1.45am. After sighting an alleged rifle in the vehicle foot-well, specialist unit officers forced entry to the locked car and arrested the sole occupant without incident. Police also found three home-made knuckle dusters, a taser, and quantities of methamphetamine and cannabis. A 35-year-old Mount Dunned man faced court on charges of possession of an imitation firearm, prohibited weapon and drug offences, and was bailed to appear at Geelong Magistrates\u2019 Court on September 20.<\/p>\n

Toilets at Bells closed<\/p>\n

THE toilet block at Bells Beach Surfing Recreation Reserve is temporarily closed due to a pump failure and subsequent blockage. Investigations are under way to identify and fix the issue, which has had no impact on the surrounding marine environment. Three portable toilets \u2013 including one for people with a disability \u2013 have been installed adjacent to the toilet block. \u201cWe\u2019re sorry if this has caused any inconvenience. We\u2019re working to get the toilet block open again as soon as possible,\u201d shire general manager of culture and community Chris Pike said.<\/p>\n

Anam Cara to celebrate birthday at the movies<\/p>\n
