AS the 2019 Low Light Festival in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale drew to a close on Sunday, the event is being hailed as a major success, with a number of events completely selling out.<\/p>\n
More than 100 events and exhibitions took part in the festival over May and June, bringing the finest artists and talents to our community in a celebration of all the senses.<\/p>\n
From packed concerts to busy food and wine events, this year\u2019s Low Light offered something for everyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn just its second year of operation, the Low Light Festival is fast becoming a must-see event for residents and visitors to our community,\u201d Queenscliffe mayor Cr Bob Merriman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cLow Light has continued to grow and show off everything we love about Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale.\u201d<\/p>\n
More than 60 businesses and community groups supported the festival through events and displays.<\/p>\n
Across Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale, local businesses set up light displays to bathe the entire community in blue light and show off the region\u2019s best local attractions.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to thank the local businesses, Queenscliff Music Festival team, and all the volunteers that took part in making this event a success,\u201d Cr Merriman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithout your support, the Low Light Festival wouldn\u2019t have been possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
A highlight of the festival was the winter solstice fire sculptures, which drew hundreds of visitors to Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale in a fascinating artistic display.<\/p>\n
Now in its second year, the festival has grown significantly, and has been featured on major TV programs, newspaper features and talkback radio stations.<\/p>\n
In the coming months, work will begin on planning to make next year\u2019s Low Light Festival bigger than ever.<\/p>\n
