He may have helped save the world, but Spider-Man (Tom Holland) is still a teenager and is still growing as a superhero.<\/p>\n
After the life-changing events of Avengers: Endgame, Peter is looking forward to his school\u2019s trip to Europe, where he can leave his superhero responsibilities behind for a few weeks and maybe even confess his romantic feelings to his classmate, MJ (Zendaya).<\/p>\n
Such hopes are dashed however when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) crashes Peter\u2019s vacation. A new superhero named Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) has appeared in the wake of a new threat to Earth and now he and Fury need Peter\u2019s help.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s a lot of pressure on Peter\u2019s shoulders in this film. Following Iron Man\u2019s death, Peter is worried he can\u2019t live up to the legacy of his former mentor. The pressuring from Fury doesn\u2019t help Peter with this dilemma. Though he faces a fair few emotional struggles, we still get to see Peter do awesome stuff as Spider-Man.<\/p>\n
The action scenes are all exciting. Some are fast and acrobatic and others look as bizarre and psychedelic as the ones seen in Doctor Strange.<\/p>\n
We also got to see more of Peter\u2019s intellectual prowess in battle along with further use of his spider sense.<\/p>\n
The majority of the supporting characters were great too, from Peter\u2019s classmates MJ and Ned (Jacob Batalon)
\nto adult characters like Mysterio and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau).<\/p>\n
The only poor character was Brad Davis (Remy Hii), a love rival to Peter who is annoyingly pointless.<\/p>\n
The story was solid and entertaining, with a similarly fun tone as the previous film. There were a few plot twists
\nsprinkled here and there that were something of a mixed bag.<\/p>\n
Overall, this was a pretty good sequel that managed to recapture the joyful spirit of its predecessor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
