THE Borough of Queenscliffe is asking for the community\u2019s input on its reimagined Destination Queenscliff project.<\/p>\n
The project, which has undergone significant changes to incorporate community feedback, is focused on making the area around the Ocean View car park more accessible to all kinds of users, including pedestrians, families and people visiting memorial sites.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Ocean View precinct has a lot to love, and we\u2019re looking at ways to make the area more welcoming to all kinds of users,\u201d Borough of Queenscliffe mayor Bob Merriman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy making the site more accessible for pedestrians, honouring the significance of the remembrance markers, and creating more spaces to spend time in the fresh air, we can make the Ocean View precinct a destination for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cr Merriman noted that plans for the site had been updated in response to community feedback, particularly regarding the kiosk, bull ring and accommodation aspects of the proposal.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve listened to community feedback and changed the plan for the site,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow we\u2019d like to hear from residents again to make sure the proposal meets community expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n
Residents, traders and ratepayers are all encouraged to share their thoughts by taking part in one of two consultation options.<\/p>\n
A survey is available at surveymonkey.<\/p>\n
com\/r\/DQ19, or a drop-in open house day will be held on Saturday August 3 at the Queenscliff\/ Point Lonsdale RSL from 10am until 1pm.<\/p>\n
The project design team will use the feedback received to inform the design of the project plan.<\/p>\n
