THE Springs Dell Boardwalk project is now in its detailed design phase, with completed drawings expected in the next couple of months.<\/p>\n
The project, which will provide walking access and preservation of the Heritage Springs site in Clifton Springs, was successfully awarded funding through the 2018 \u2018Pick My Project\u2019 grants program.<\/p>\n
The grant was sought by the Drysdale Clifton Springs Curlewis Association, in partnership with City of Greater Geelong and was successful in securing $200,000.<\/p>\n
Cr Jim Mason said due to the significant and sensitive nature of the environment where the boardwalk was set to be constructed, the City was required to seek a number of approvals from organisations including Cultural Heritage and Heritage Victoria.<\/p>\n
The project also requires a Marine and Coastal Act consent and a Works Authority from Parks Victoria.<\/p>\n
Project construction is expected to commence once these approvals are successfully secured.<\/p>\n
Mr Mason said it was terrific news for the community when the Drysdale Clifton Springs Curlewis Association was successful in securing the funds for this very exciting project.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new Boardwalk will help protect the valuable coastal environment, including the historic mineral springs, from the impacts of erosion and human foot traffic.<\/p>\n
