A GRANDMOTHER and her grandchild escaped unharmed after the ute they were traveling in broke out in flames outside Bellarine Police Station on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Police said the female driver and the infant baby were in a blue Hilux and were driving past the Bellarine Police Station at 10am when she observed smoke coming from the rear tray.<\/p>\n

The woman parked the vehicle and grabbed the baby from inside just before the ute was engulfed in fire.<\/p>\n

The fire brigade then attended to extinguish the flames.<\/p>\n

Police said the grandmother and grandchild escaped safe and well, while there was no further damage to buildings or other vehicles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
