CURLEWIS Golf Club\u2019s Blitz Golf Pro-Am held earlier this year has won the 2018\/2019 Victorian Regional Pro-Am of the Year.
\nThe 2019 Victorian Golf Industry Awards dinner, which was held at the Melbourne Arts Centre at the weekend, celebrates people and organisations who have made a significant contribution to the Victorian Golf Industry during 2018 and 2019.
\nBlitz Golf was a revolutionary fast-paced golf format held at Curlewis Golf Club on January 4 2019.
\nDescribed as the T20 of tournament golf, Blitz Golf is still a traditional stroke play event that\u2019s played according to the rules of golf but that is where the similarities end.
\nThe 40-player strong field is split into two pools and players compete over four individual rounds, but not the classic 18 holes per round.
\nFast and furious, cuts are made to the starting pool after nine holes.
\nRound 2 is played over six holes before a further cut.
\nThe top six players per pool then progress to an exciting three-hole third round.
\nAfter the three-hole sprint, the players have played all 18 holes on the golf course.
