BELLARINE residents and local Point Lonsdale community members are invited to pitch in at The Point\u2019s fourth annual community tree planting day.
\nHosted by Moremac Property Group, in celebration of the arrival of spring, residents from Point Lonsdale can shake off the cold winter blues and plant trees on Sunday September 8 at 10.30am.
\nAs part of an ongoing partnership with the Bellarine Catchment Network, the annual tree planting day involves planting a selection of indigenous vegetation within the conservation reserve of The Point estate.
\nMoremac Property Group Director Bryce Moore said the community planting day provided a great opportunity for residents to learn more about the unique natural flora in the local area.
\n\u201cThis is our fourth community tree planting day at The Point and I look forward to working with the local community to plant a range of native plants for residents to enjoy,\u201d Mr Moore said.
\n\u201cThis event is a fantastic way to welcome newer residents to the area and into the community.
\n\u201cEvery year, the Moremac team enjoy seeing residents from The Point and beyond come together to meet one another and bond over a shared experience to make the community a better place.\u201d
\nBellarine Catchment Network\u2019s Biodiversity Coordinator Lachlan Forbes said every year the event served an opportunity for community members to learn more about the wide variety of plant life found in the Point Lonsdale area.
\n\u201cThe community planting day at The Point is a unique event where residents can not only learn how to support and protect their local ecosystem, but also pick up some gardening tips along the way,\u201d Mr Forbes said.
\n\u201cIf you are an environment enthusiast or just enjoy gardening, come down and join the team on the second Sunday of September for a fun morning of digging, learning and connecting.\u201d
\nAfter planting, residents and community members can enjoy a free BBQ lunch with refreshments as thanks for all the hard work and support.
\nThe event is at Cowry Way Park, The Point, on Sunday September 8 at 10.30am.
