\nSet to rival popular playgrounds in Barwon Heads, Leopold and Curlewis, the new Portarlington & Drysdale Community Bank Play Space at W.G. Little Reserve will be the biggest of its kind on the northern Bellarine.
\nGreater Scapes & Structures, a Geelong-based commercial landscaping company, have taken on the challenge to build the playground.
\nHitting the ground running, the team demolished the existing playground within two days of being onsite and have moved on to excavating the new playground layout.
\n\u201cIf you look closely, you can already begin to make out the location of the flying fox and other play features,\u201d Bellarine Bayside CEO John Nankervis said.
\nOver the next few weeks the landscape will really start to take shape as the mudstone rocks and logs are placed throughout the playground.
\nThis will define sections of the playground, such as the dry creek bed, and demonstrate the range of natural features that are set to be included.
\n\u201cWe are really happy with how this project is progressing and we cannot wait to see the new playground completed later this year,\u201d Mr Nankervis said.
