LOCAL Hotondo Homes builder Aaron Anstis was humbled to be awarded the 2017 Make-A-Wish Star Contributor Award at the Hotondo Homes National Conference in September.<\/p>\n
The award recognises the franchise that has shown outstanding support to Make-A-Wish Australia over the course of the year.<\/p>\n
Aaron and his team were recognised for their hard work and commitment to raising awareness about Make-A-Wish as well as funds to help grant more wishes.<\/p>\n
\u201cGiving to the community is very important to me, I am not a doctor or missionary and I can\u2019t have an impact by healing people, but what I can do is raise awareness and money,\u201d Aaron said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe impact we can have as a whole is enormous, we have a huge opportunity to make a real change in these kids\u2019 lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
The team from Ocean Grove\u2019s success is a testament to their ongoing support of the charity. From funding wishes, to making donations and participating in a number of national initiatives, the team has helped grant several wishes for seriously ill children including Fraser, 5, diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, who wished for a black puppy to play with.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe recognition is great, but the opportunity to speak and appeal to other business owners is what it\u2019s all about,\u201d Aaron said.<\/p>\n
Hotondo Homes national marketing manager Jodie Flower was proud to see the team shine and congratulated them on their success.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur national partnership with Make-A-Wish is something we truly value, Aaron\u2019s support and dedication to this has been absolutely phenomenal,\u201d Jodie said.<\/p>\n
In addition to the Make-A-Wish Star Contributor Award, Aaron and his team were selected as finalists for both the Display Home of the Year and the Victorian Professional Builder of the Year Awards.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have some amazing people in our business who motivate me even further to create a better business and experience for our customers,\u201d Aaron said.<\/p>\n
Make-A-Wish has been making life-changing wishes come true in Australia since 1985 giving really sick children and teenagers hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness, and joy from their incredible wish experience.<\/p>\n
