MORGAN Griggs-Kennelly recently competed in the 2019 Australian Surf Championships, held across the Tweed Coast in New South Wales.<\/p>\n
Griggs-Kennelly took part in the Australian Longboard Titles, narrowly missing first spot in her heat during round one, and then finishing third in her heat in the second round.<\/p>\n
Having taken a two-year break from competitive surfing, Griggs-Kennelly said she was glad to be back in the water and competing in the national championships for her fourth time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year\u2019s national titles was a good learning curve for me. It was nice to see all the girls again and compete again in that kind of environment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Poor conditions meant there was little surfers could do to truly show their skills in the second round.<\/p>\n
But Griggs-Kennelly says having now returned to competitive surfing she is eager to continue forwards.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope to go back to competing interstate more and hopefully have a go at the World Tour and try to make that group of women that travel the world and compete professionally for the longboard tour.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
