THE City of Greater Geelong has received a planning application for a new childcare centre in Drysdale.
\nThe centre, which is proposed for 118-120 High Street, would cater for up to 126 children.
\nThe proposal also includes the subdivision of the site land to include three independent lots –
\ntwo of the lots would be developed for residential use, while the third lot would include the construction and operation of the new single-level childcare facility.
\nThe facility would include internal and external children\u2019s play areas combined with external vehicle parking areas.
\n\u201cThe childcare centre is orientated toward High Street, with staff area comprising offices, meeting room, bathroom and laundry all in the south-east corner of the building,\u201d a planning report by Sincock Planning states.
\n\u201cImmediately adjacent to the entry is the reception and board room, with the children\u2019s rooms located around the west, north and east side of the building, all of which have direct access to the outdoor play areas.
\n\u201cThe kitchen is centrally located within the building, to the immediate north of the reception area.\u201d
\nSincock Planning state that the childcare centre is proposed to operate with 126 children between 7am-7pm Monday to Friday.
\nThe estimated cost of the development is $2,000,000.
