ANGLESEA Bowling Club\u2019s Twilight Social League is beginning next week.<\/p>\n
Sponsored by Great Ocean Properties, the competition is open to people of all different skill levels.<\/p>\n
The league has provided a great entry point for people looking to take up lawn bowls, with several players from last season\u2019s competition having since become full club members.<\/p>\n
The competition\u2019s aim is to be both fun and social. It is run with complimentary finger food, as well as raffles and a drinks bar.<\/p>\n
The Jack Attack format will be used, allowing for more fast-paced games than normal bowls.<\/p>\n
Teams consist of three to five players, with interchange allowed at the completion of each end.<\/p>\n
Players can take to the green in flat soled-shoes or bare feet.<\/p>\n
The season lasts for seven weeks, starting on Thursday, October 17. Play will begin at 6pm and finish about 7.30pm with presentations then following.<\/p>\n
It will also include special nights such as fancy dress competitions.<\/p>\n
Each team will be required to pay $30 a week regardless of the number of players they have.<\/p>\n
Due to the replacement of one of the club\u2019s greens, this year\u2019s competition will be limited to 16 teams.<\/p>\n
