THE Geelong branch of the Air Force Association (AFA) has been reformed and is now seeking new members.<\/p>\n
The branch was reactivated a couple of months ago and has already been making a difference, providing members and veterans with fellowship and support.<\/p>\n
Branch president John Delia said the AFA helps guide other members in need to get support and ensure that those involved are looked out for.<\/p>\n
“For people who go through hard times or need that support, the Air Force Association is also there to be able to help them.<\/p>\n
“We have the resources and abilities to help people out in different ways.”<\/p>\n
Membership is open to serving and former members of the Australian Defence Force or Allied Armed Services, including Air Force Cadets and the Air Training Corps.<\/p>\n
Membership is not exclusive to Geelong residents, as the branch accepts people from all over the G21 region, including the Surf Coast, Queenscliff and Lara.<\/p>\n
The aim of the AFA feel the more members they have, the more able they are to provide the various types of support people need.<\/p>\n
Last week, the branch held their first meeting after their reformation on August 8 this year. They did so after finding there was strong support for in the community for the branch starting back up.<\/p>\n
