DAVID Bond\u2019s unwavering passion for Portarlington Golf Club has earned him a life membership at the club.
\nMr Bond received the honour at the club\u2019s annual general meeting in October.
\nHis achievements include winning the 2017 Community Club’s Victoria Club Official of the Year.
\nMr Bond has been a member of Portarlington Golf Club for more than 38 years, including 12 years\u2019 service as a Board Member and 11 years as Honorary Secretary.
\nHe has also attended a staggering 136 out of 144 board meetings during the 11 years he has been Honorary Secretary.
\nThe club said that this was a terrific achievement considering Mr Bond was able to travel extensively overseas and to Australian locations.
\nMr Bond demonstrates the perfect \u201clife balance\u201d, while maintaining an unwavering passion for the Club.
\nHe was also integral in 2018 facilitating the merging of the men\u2019s and ladies\u2019 golf committees, into one equal gender entity, with one club captain.
\nThis visionary approach has had other clubs seeking Mr Bond\u2019s counsel to move forward on the same issue.
\nWhen Mr Bond was not articulating accurate minutes during board meetings or travelling to exotic locations, he still found time for a round of golf twice a week and has a monthly medal, grade championship and a hole-in-one to his credit.
