THE Portarlington Chess Club, a friendly and sociable group focusing on and assisting beginners and the serious player, has moved to a new premises.
\nThe club is now located in the Bayview Room, at Parks Hall, 87 Newcombe Street, Portarlington.
\nPlayers of all strengths attend regularly, so you’re sure to find a competitive opponent or coach.
\nFor beginners they focus of on chess piece moves via Mini Games and demonstrations.
\nThe club\u2019s founder Stan Rusiniak said he believes in making chess a fun, enjoyable and social experience, no matter the skill level, win, lose or draw \u2013 just have fun.
\nThe chess club\u2019s main access is via the left-hand side door off Newcombe Street just opposite Portarlington Primary School.
\nThe chess club premises are fully wheelchair accessible via the Bayview (rear door).
\nThey meet at the usual time every Monday at 10am.
\nThe club provides all the necessary equipment needed to get you your chess fix for the day and as usual tea and coffee are available.
