TORQUAY-based retailer Strapper Surf has received a prestigious award.<\/p>\n

\n

The company was named Australian Retailer of the Year (Multi Store) at the recent 2019 Surf and Boardsports Industry Association (SBIA) Surf Industry Awards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Strapper owner and surfboard shaper Michael Di Sciascio said he was delighted to see his team recognised for their hard work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“I’m so stoked. All Strapper wanted to do was make surfboards, hang out with people who surf and go surfing\u2026 that was 43 years ago.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

“Today, my Strapper crew still have the same shared passion and work really hard to be the best surf shop we can.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Strapper Surf was the award runner-up last year, finishing behind Coopers Surf, who were in turn runners-up this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The SBIA Surf Industry Awards have been held annually since 2011.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Strapper Surf was officially founded in 1976.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Di Sciascio started shaping with Strapper as a 15-year-old in 1979, before replacing Dennis “Strapper” Day as the owner of the business in 1989.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
