The Probus Club of Surf Coast Anglesea recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.<\/p>\n

To mark the event, about 100 club members gathered for high tea at Little Feast in Aireys Inlet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
They were joined by Surf Coast Shire mayor Rose Hodge and Anglesea Ward councillor Tony Revell.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Former club president Lynn Bunning said she was relatively new to the area when she joined Probus, and found it offered her plenty of ways to make new connections.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“It’s a great way to socialise and meet members of the community” Ms Bunning said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“We have dinners, shows, films, walks, garden group meetings and guest speakers.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The club had 36 foundation members when it was formed in 1994. Six of these founders were at the celebration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Probus is an organisation for people who are active members of the community or no longer working full-time to join together.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
It seeks to provide its members with regular social interaction, but also to stimulate their intellectual and cultural interests.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
They generally meet at the clubhouse at Anglesea Golf Club on the third Monday of the month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
