COMMUNITY feedback on proposed changes to dog areas along the coast near Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads will close tomorrow (Friday).<\/p>\n

City of Greater Geelong mayor Stephanie Asher\u00a0said this was a subject that stirred a lot of passion in the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best way you can influence the council\u2019s final decision is to have your say online.<\/p>\n

\u201cI urge anyone with an interest to make your feelings known.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want all viewpoints to be well represented in the feedback we receive so we can make the most informed and representative decision possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The findings from the consultation period will be presented to Council in early 2020 for their consideration and assessment prior to any orders being adopted.<\/p>\n

The existing dog control orders continue to be applicable and are to be adhered to for the 2019\/2020 summer season.<\/p>\n

During peak holiday season (December 18 until January 31), dogs are not permitted on most of the main beaches of Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads, including the west and east bank of the Barwon River, The Bluff and Ocean Grove Main Beach.<\/p>\n

Barwon Coast manages this land, spanning from Connewarre to Collendina.<\/p>\n
