THE new playground in Portarlington\u2019s W.G. Little Reserve is officially open.<\/p>\n

It sees the replacement of the infrastructure that has been in the location for nearly 25 years.<\/p>\n

The playground\u2019s design has been shaped by input from Portarlington Primary School pupils.<\/p>\n

The playground includes swings, rockers, spinners and a flying fox. It has been designed to accommodate children of different age groups.<\/p>\n

It also features art installations and play sculptures designed to a coastal theme and a nearby adult fitness station.<\/p>\n

The project, which celebrated its opening on Friday afternoon, was funded by the Bellarine Bayside<\/a> Foreshore Committee of Management in partnership with the Portarlington and Drysdale Community Bank branches of the Bendigo Bank, the Portarlington-Drysdale Lions Club, the City of Greater Geelong, Portarlington Mussel Festival, the Port Arts Network and the National Celtic Festival.<\/p>\n

Bellarine MP Lisa Neville said it would be a great asset to the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cPortarlington\u2019s foreshore is a wonderful place, enjoyed by both locals and visitors alike, and this beautiful new playground will only add to this enjoyment, especially for young families with kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said she appreciated all the community had done to make the playground come to fruition.<\/p>\n
