OCEAN Grove’s Agnes Emma-Nnopu has been signed by the Luina Bio Geelong Supercats for the coming Women’s NBL1 season.<\/p>\n

\n

Despite only being 18 years old, Emma-Nnopu has already developed an impressive resume.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

She has represented Australia at various youth levels, including in the FIBA Under 19 Women Basketball World Cup earlier this year where Australia made the grand final.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

She gave a particularly strong showing in the grand final against the United States, with 9 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Emma-Nnopu started in basketball playing for the Bellarine Storm in the Victorian Junior Basketball League.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

She then went on to win gold with the Country Victorian Under 18 girls team at the 2017 Australian Junior Championships.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In 2017 Emma-Nnopu also was selected to be part of Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence at the Australian Institute of Sport.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Soon after her first season with the Supercats, Emma-Nnopu will head to Stanford University in California to pursue her career further there.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
