{"id":29145,"date":"2019-11-28T07:00:33","date_gmt":"2019-11-27T21:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/geelong-marlins-win-victorian-water-polo-primary-school-competition\/"},"modified":"2019-11-28T07:00:33","modified_gmt":"2019-11-27T21:00:33","slug":"geelong-marlins-win-victorian-water-polo-primary-school-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/sport\/geelong-marlins-win-victorian-water-polo-primary-school-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Geelong Marlins win Victorian Water Polo Primary School Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE GEELONG Schools Composite Team recently claimed victory in the Victorian Water Polo Primary Schools Competition boys division at the Melbourne Sports Aquatic Centre.<\/p>\n<div>The Geelong Schools Composite Teams in both girls and boys division were made up of players from Geelong Marlins two Under 12 Mixed sides.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>The boys faced North Melbourne Primary School Composite Team in the grand final, having lost to them 6-5 in the preliminary final.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>However, they put in a brilliant performance to win 11-1.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>There was plenty of competition too, as the event drew more than 180 students.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>The girls&#8217; team put in a strong showing but did not quite make the finals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Geelong Marlins players attend various schools in the Geelong and Surf Coast regions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Geelong&#8217;s Harry Talbot was named the boys division&#8217;s Most Valuable Player (MVP).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Geelong Marlins have grown a lot in the past few years and are now making a habit of winning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Earlier in the year, the Geelong Marlins Under 12 Mixed side won the gold at the annual Ballarat Invitational Water Polo Tournament.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE GEELONG Schools Composite Team recently claimed victory in the Victorian Water Polo Primary Schools Competition boys division at the Melbourne Sports Aquatic Centre.
