TONI McCormack has been recognised for her 14 years of selfless contribution to Lions Village as a community representative.<\/p>\n
Mrs McCormack, who had previously been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her many years of service to individuals, groups and organisations in Victoria, was made an Honorary Member of the Lions Village at the village\u2019s annual general meeting, held recently.<\/p>\n
She is also a Justice of the Peace and a volunteer with the Surf Coast Campus of the University of the Third Age (U3A). Village chair Phillip Newson praised Mrs McCormack for her untiring support of the village residents, her contribution to the committee and her expansive knowledge of policies and guidelines that apply to all retirement villages.<\/p>\n
\u201cToni has been a wonderful colleague to have had on the Lions Village Committee,\u201d he said. \u201cOver the years, she has been an advisor on most things related to retirement villages.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhenever a discussion point came up at a committee meeting, Toni\u2019s first thought was for the residents and what benefits they might gain from committee decisions.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer years of contribution to the success and development of the Lions Village into a modern, friendly centre of independent living more than warrants our grant of Honorary Membership.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mrs McCormack has stood down from the village committee as a community representative, and has been replaced by Marilyn Young.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
