ROBERT Minty has been declared as the new councillor for the Borough of Queenscliffe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A countback by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) confirmed Robert Minty as the new councillor for the borough, following the resignation of Cr Tony Francis.<\/p>\n

Using results of the November 2016 election, the VEC declared Mr Minty the winner on a countback of eligible votes.<\/p>\n

Cr Francis resigned after selling his Queenscliffe-based business, meaning he was no longer a business owner nor a ratepayer in the borough, which is a requirement to be a councillor.<\/p>\n

Mr Minty is set to be invested as a councillor at a council meeting this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
