{"id":29316,"date":"2019-12-12T07:00:17","date_gmt":"2019-12-11T21:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=29316"},"modified":"2019-12-12T07:00:17","modified_gmt":"2019-12-11T21:00:17","slug":"renegades-season-set-to-start-at-gmhba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/sport\/renegades-season-set-to-start-at-gmhba\/","title":{"rendered":"Renegades season set to start at GMHBA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MELBOURNE Renegades have secured two new international signings to help in their title defence which begins at GMHBA Stadium on December 19.<\/p>\n<div>Pakistani duo Usman Shinwari and Faheem Ashraf were both recently announced for the Renegades.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Shinwari, a rapid left-arm paceman, and Ashraf a hard hitting all-rounder, will join the likes of Big Bash League (BBL) stalwarts Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Kane Richardson and Dan Christian.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Shinwari played for the Renegades last year and maintained a formidable record, with an economy rate of just 6.14 in the competition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>He will play the opening five games before being replaced with English left-arm paceman Harry Gurney. Ashraf will play the first eight games before being replaced by Afghanistan allrounder Mohammad Nabi.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>The Renegades will play a second game at GMHBA Stadium against Perth Scorchers on January 7.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Later in 2020, the stadium will also host some of the early games in the ICC T20 World Cup.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>The Melbourne Renegades matches at GMHBA were well-attended last season.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MELBOURNE Renegades have secured two new international signings to help in their title defence which begins at GMHBA Stadium on December 19.
