NEXT week, some of the world’s best established and emerging cyclists will take part in the Bay Crits at Geelong.<\/p>\n

Held from January 3-5, the Bay Crits has stages at Eastern Gardens and Ritchie Boulevard in Geelong before moving to Williamstown for the third day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Many top Australian riders have participated in the race since it was founded in 1989. Past riders include Cadel Evans, Kathy Watt, Anna Wilson, Stuart O’Grady, Robbie McEwen, Oenone Wood and Caleb Ewan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Race director John Trevorrow said the courses have plenty to offer spectators and riders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“This will be a great series across three different courses, the small tight circuit at Ritchie Boulevard to start us off and that really does stamp us as the world’s fastest criterium series, what a great viewing location as well with families on picnic rugs up on the hill.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“Then the wide open areas of the parks of Geelong at Eastern Gardens, where you can actually have a ride before the big guns get under way. Then the hustle and bustle of beautiful Williamstown, where we will crown our winners; always special.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Among the cyclists in this year’s event are 2018 Great Ocean Road Race winner Cadel Evans, Commonwealth Games gold medallist Chloe Hosking and fellow Commonwealth Games gold medallist Leigh Howard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
They will be racing alongside decorated international cyclists and the best local cyclists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Mr Trevorrow said he’s confident that the 2020 edition would prove a memorable affair.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“I’m proud to have delivered this event for three decades, and this year will be another ripper.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
