{"id":29821,"date":"2020-01-16T00:43:18","date_gmt":"2020-01-15T14:43:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=29821"},"modified":"2020-01-15T08:58:11","modified_gmt":"2020-01-14T22:58:11","slug":"tranquility-fair-ocean-grove","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/tranquility-fair-ocean-grove\/","title":{"rendered":"Ocean Grove enjoys Tranquility Fair in twilight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOR more than 20 years Ocean Grove Park has come alive the first Saturday in January and this year\u2019s annual Tranquility Fair embraced a cooler twilight slot, a third year in a row.<\/p>\n<p>Starting at 4pm and running until 9pm Ocean Grove Park Association president Don Pietrapertosa said this year the weather was a little too cool but crowds still turned out to enjoy festivities.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_29823\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29823\" style=\"width: 682px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29823 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/01\/Layer-1-7-682x1024.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"682\" height=\"1024\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29823\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bebop Circus entertained the crowd.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe event was really good, we had somewhere between 4 to 6,000 adults and children go through the gates. The weather was a bit too cool but people still turned up,\u201d Mr Pietrapertosa said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOther than the weather it was great. We had a lot of compliments as people were leaving. They had a good time, we had five bands playing across the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe music sounded really good, a lot of people were grooving to the music, a few people were having a quiet drink at the bar (run by BrewiColo), people were walking around tasting food from the various food vans and buying bits and pieces.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_29824\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29824\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29824 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/01\/TRANQ03-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29824\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mum Liz with Isobella on the Spinning Cup ride.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The event delivered a fun evening for the whole family, with 70 market stalls, children\u2019s entertainment, carnival rides and food stalls.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Pietrapertosa said the money raised from the event will go back to maintaining the park, which is community-owned and managed, while 10 per cent of the gate fees will be donated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to donate 10 per cent of the gate keeping towards the current bush fires. The money raised will go towards maintaining the park; we\u2019re looking at updating the current children\u2019s playground,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_29825\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29825\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29825 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/01\/TRANQ04-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29825\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Bloods and the Nunns enjoyed the market.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Crowds browsed and bought handmade jewellery, candles, unique clothing and accessories, handicrafts, artwork, pet products and wind chimes.<\/p>\n<p>The tranquility corner featuring reiki healing, relaxation massage, henna \u00adtattoos and tarot card readings, along with crystals, aromatherapy products and dream catchers.<\/p>\n<p>Kids loved the kids corner with hair braiding, a puppet show, toy stalls, lucky dip and fairy dresses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe entire event is run by volunteers.
