Local artist and art teacher Kaz McGlynn has great memories of enjoying family activities and playing at the beach in her younger years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now living in Barwon Heads herself, Kaz, as a child, had a love of colour and drawing, spending most of her time in the school art room, lost in the freedom of creative expression.<\/p>\n

Kaz often tells the story of her father giving her 100 copies of her pencil drawings of wide-eyed children for her 12th birthday, which she enterprisingly sold for pocket money.<\/p>\n

Now a celebrated Australian artist, Kaz produces paintings, sculptures and ceramics, as well as public art installations, gates, artistic fences and many smaller creative products.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy artwork is creating a memory that you want to treasure forever,\u201d Kaz said.<\/p>\n

Kaz shares her joys and sorrows in a quirky way through her work, leaving a large impact on her audiences.<\/p>\n

Her background in industrial design and visual art gives Kaz a unique perspective when creating public art for communities and private commissions, using an incredible range of media.<\/p>\n

As an art educator, Kaz has lectured at Deakin University and has taught thousands of students in secondary schools and has continued to do so through founding an award-winning art school run by qualified art educators\/artists.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuality of life improves when there is a healthy, thriving arts community, like the one we have at The Studio @54 Grubb Rd in Ocean Grove,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Kaz\u2019s early memories live on through her art\u2019sKool, with many day-time, after-school and weekend art classes, art workshops and festive arty parties; from tiny tots, kids, teens and adults including people with disabilities from NDIS.<\/p>\n

Kaz also conducts an annual exhibition of her students\u2019 work which is planned for late November at The Studio @ 54 Grubb Road, Ocean Grove, where students also gain entrepreneurial skills by selling limited editions of their work, as she did as a child.<\/p>\n
