ST LEONARDS Golf Club is organising a golf day on Monday, January 27 with all proceeds going to the Bendigo Bank bushfire appeal.<\/p>\n
Club president Jack Muscat said the club received a fantastic response from local businesses, members and non-members happy to get involved.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be held on January 27 with a two person Ambrose and a shotgun start at 9am. Players need to register at 8.30am with the cost $20 per player,\u201d Mr Muscat said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfterwards we will be putting on a barbecue lunch and auctioning and raffling off a variety of prizes that have kindly been donated from local business and across the Bellarine.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Muscat said he reached out to the committee after witnessing the devastation caused from the fires and wanted to help those affected.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re hoping to raise as much money as we can. I encourage both golfers and non-golfers to come along, support this appeal while having a fun day on the golf course,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe event continues a long tradition of the club supporting the community, most notable our Good Friday Appeal for the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n
