The entertainment on the main stage was popular throughout the day and it was great seeing live local talent showcased in this way; Christian College bands, <a href=\"https:\/\/gsoda279335637.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">GSODA<\/a> and Theatre of the Damned were crowd favourites.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe animal nursery, face painting, rides and show bags were a big hit with the younger visitors while the Devonshire tea, pavlovas and choc dipped strawberries were a favourite across all the age groups.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30652\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30652\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30652 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/03\/Strawberry-3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30652\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Meryn and Heather from Barwon Heads stocked up on strawberry goods.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThere were such a great variety of market stalls to peruse and the Barwon Water site was kept busy rehydrating our visitors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms Boland said organisers wanted to thank everyone who attended the fair and the wider community who generously donated their time, products and services.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30653\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30653\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30653 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/03\/Strawberry-4-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30653\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nick, Max, Tanya and Jake looked after the Poo Lotto station.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cLastly to our Wallington staff and families who work tirelessly not just on the day but for months in the lead up to the fair.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is such a testament to the commitment of these people, without whom the Strawberry Fair would not be celebrating its 40th year and still being such a well-loved annual event.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WALLINGTON Primary School opened their gates on Sunday for the 40th annual Strawberry Fair, with thousands arriving to devour over 50,000 strawberries prepared the day before.
