As part of VicHealth\u2019s 2017 Walk to School program, the council hosted a breakfast for all three primary schools in the borough.<\/p>\n
Pupils were encouraged to get creative and walk, ride or scoot to school dressed as their favourite sporting hero, or decorate their shoes, bikes and scooters.<\/p>\n
Borough of Queenscliffe mayor Tony Francis said VicHealth\u2019s program was a free, easy and fun way for kids to get active and learn healthy habits for life.<\/p>\n
\u201cCouncil was delighted to be part of this important initiative,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur successful grant application has provided local school children with improved footpaths for safe travel and funded our healthy breakfast event.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe love to see families walking, scooting or riding to school to help local kids get active and build healthy habits, confidence and friendships.\u201d<\/p>\n
The three primary schools receive certificates for their participation in Walk to School to celebrate their students\u2019 achievements.<\/p>\n
Two students from each school were presented with a Rebel Sport voucher.<\/p>\n
