QUEENSCLIFF Football Netball Club have banded together during lockdown to help raise money to help people with multiple sclerosis (MS).<\/p>\n

The May 50K is a virtual fitness and fundraising challenge where people and groups fundraise for MS Research Australia by challenging themselves to run or walk certain distances across the month, using apps such as Strava to log their distances.<\/p>\n

Netballer Zoe Saunders suggested the challenge to the club. She said the fundraiser stood out to her because of her familiarity with the disease.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a disability carer, so I work with a lot of clients who have MS, and I see how debilitating the disease is.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to do something for them and to help find a cure so it\u2019s not something me and my friends face in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

The club set a goal of raising $1,000 by the end of May, yet they have already raised $5,000.<\/p>\n

Saunders said she has been delighted with the \u201coverwhelming response\u201d from those associated with the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s netballers and footballers and parents of some of the players and some committee members as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s open to everyone who wants to join.\u201d<\/p>\n
