Ancient seabeds, nautical knots and hints of a maritime past are featured by creative duo and twin sisters Carolyn McKinnon and Meryl Hodgson.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sisters bring varied backgrounds to their artistic pursuits.<\/p>\n

Carolyn began her career as a gold and silversmith, before12 months training in New Zealand in jade and limestone carving opened new possibilities for sculpture in her 3D work.<\/p>\n

\u201cI enjoy the change in scale from jewellery to sculpture,\u201d Carolyn said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving lived in Geelong, the Grampians, North East Victoria and now on the coast, I have experienced some great landscapes on my doorstep. Being out in those environments has shaped the motifs and concepts in my artwork.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carolyn will display her jewellery and limestone sculpture in the garden and studio space she shares now with her sister in Point Lonsdale.<\/p>\n

Meryl will exhibit her photographic posters for the first time.<\/p>\n

After more than 20 years living and working on the coast promoting the region\u2019s tourism and history, Meryl has focused on the small scale, exploring the coastline stretching from Lorne to Point Lonsdale.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love to relax by grabbing my camera and just becoming absorbed in snapping the minutiae found beachcombing,\u201d Meryl said.<\/p>\n

After running the retail outlet SwellARTS in Anglesea together for three years featuring local artists, the pair is now keen to share their own work on the Bellarine Arts Trail at, 186 Fellows Road, Point Lonsdale.<\/p>\n
