{"id":32767,"date":"2020-06-14T11:49:29","date_gmt":"2020-06-14T01:49:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/sports-competitions-can-return-more-people-in-bars-and-restaurants-as-coronavirus-restrictions-ease-again\/"},"modified":"2020-06-14T11:59:37","modified_gmt":"2020-06-14T01:59:37","slug":"sports-competitions-bars-restaurants-coronavirus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/sports-competitions-bars-restaurants-coronavirus\/","title":{"rendered":"Sports competitions can return, more people in bars and restaurants as coronavirus restrictions ease again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE state government has announced a continued easing of COVID-19 restrictions, and the big winners are community sport, restaurants, and bars.<\/p>\n<p>Over-18-year-old sporting comps will be allowed to resume full training from July 13 and competition can get started from July 20.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile from Monday, June 22, indoor sports centres and places like gyms will be able to take up to 20 people per space, with groups limited to 10 people for over 18s in fitness classes and the like.<\/p>\n<p>Restaurants, cafes, pubs and clubs will be able to take up to 50 seated guests, and you can drink without having to buy a meal.<\/p>\n<p>Cinemas, concert venues, theatres and auditoriums can also reopen, again with a 50 people limit. Libraries, community centres and halls will be able to open to 50 people and religious ceremonies can also increase to 50.<\/p>\n<p>Gambling is also back with TABs, electronic gaming areas and the casino given the all clear to re-open with personal distancing and hygiene requirements in place.<\/p>\n<p>Contact tracing measures will also remain in place.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s currently unchanged is the requirement to work from home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you can keep working from home \u2013 you must do that too,\u201d Premier Daniel Andrews said in a statement today (Sunday, June 14).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe still want to limit the number of people moving around our state and help protect those who do have to go to the workplace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, because of the progress we\u2019ve made \u2013 and the evidence base we\u2019ve built \u2013 I can confirm those proposed changes will go ahead.
