Finding joy in diversity, breathing air into molten glass to blow beads and small sculptures, weaving tiny glass beads together, and creating unique pieces are Glenda Mac Naughton\u2019s hopes and inspirations as a glass artist.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Glenda began weaving with tiny glass beads in the late 1990s and she has since gained many awards for her bead-woven jewelry designs and small sculptures.<\/p>\n

In August 2017, she was one of 12 international artists invited to exhibit her jewelry at a prestigious jewelry show in Murano, Venice, Italy during the Venice Glass Week.<\/p>\n

In more recent years, Glenda has begun incorporating her own glass beads and sculptures into her designs made by softening and hand shaping glass using an oxygen and gas torch (known as flamework).<\/p>\n

She loves pushing the boundaries of her own skills and knowledge and has taken glass workshops with many leading glass artists internationally.<\/p>\n

Glenda lives in Drysdale where she sells her designs and teaches beadweaving in her home studio and in local galleries.<\/p>\n

She also has an online shop selling beadweaving tutorials.<\/p>\n

As a committee member of the annual Drysdale Festival of Glass (festivalofglass. net.au) much of her time is spent organising the event and promoting the beauty and possibilities of glass locally.<\/p>\n

Glenda will be demonstrating glass blowing and glass-bead making and will have items for sale in the Senior Citizens Hall, Ocean Grove as part of the Bellarine Arts Trail.<\/p>\n

Her annual pre-Christmas Open Studio is on December 9, 2017.<\/p>\n
