{"id":33527,"date":"2020-07-20T08:30:18","date_gmt":"2020-07-19T22:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/school-to-close-due-to-confirmed-covid-19-case\/"},"modified":"2020-07-21T08:14:02","modified_gmt":"2020-07-20T22:14:02","slug":"school-to-close-due-to-confirmed-covid-19-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/school-to-close-due-to-confirmed-covid-19-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Two schools close due to confirmed COVID-19 case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DRYSDALE and Grovedale West primary schools will close for 24 hours as a precautionary measure after the schools each confirmed a reported case of coronavirus.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">The schools will close today (Monday July 20) to all staff, students and members of the community, until Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) advises otherwise.<\/span>The confirmed case has been reported to the Department of Education and Training (DET), and the <span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">DHHS <\/span>is investigating the case.<br \/>\nDrysdale Primary School principal Phil Dunlop-Moore acknowledged on the school&#8217;s Facebook page that this was a time of &#8220;heightened anxiety&#8221; for everyone and encouraged people to contact DET with questions as the department was best to give advice.<br \/>\nMr Dunlop-Moore thanked the community for their support.<\/p>\n<p>People experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 can get <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhhs.vic.gov.au\/where-get-tested-covid-19\">tested at<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Barwon Health\u2019s clinic in Norlane<\/li>\n<li>University Hospital Geelong in central Geelong<\/li>\n<li>The GP Respiratory Clinic in Ocean Grove<\/li>\n<li>4Cyte Pathology in Newcomb<\/li>\n<li>The Kardinia Health clinic in Belmont<\/li>\n<li>Torquay Community Health Centre in Torquay<\/li>\n<li>Great Ocean Health\u2019s facilities in Lorne and Apollo Bay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more advice or to find out where to be tested, phone the 24-hour hotline on 1800 675 398, head to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dhhs.vic.gov.au\/getting-tested-coronavirus-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">dhhs.vic.gov.au\/getting-tested-coronavirus-covid-19<\/a> or phone your local GP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DRYSDALE and Grovedale West primary schools will close for 24 hours as a precautionary measure after the schools each confirmed a reported case of coronavirus.
