THE Surf Coast Suns Football Netball Club is bringing Auskick back for limited sessions this month.<\/p>\n

The club will run three Friday night clinics from October 9-23, in addition to three sessions the club hosted before the region entered into the second round of Stage Three restrictions.<\/p>\n

Club president Michael Thomas said the club was grateful to be able to get kids back on the field.<\/p>\n

“We’ve had lots of interest in it starting back up, so everybody’s rapt,” Thomas said.<\/p>\n

“With the AFL season continuing it gives all the really little kids who are too young to pick up a summer sport an opportunity to get out and be active.”<\/p>\n

Thomas also said he appreciated the readiness of Nathan Pattinson and the parent helpers to recommence the program.<\/p>\n

Pattinson said it was exciting to see the program given a second life.<\/p>\n

“We’ve had a few people asking throughout lockdown if we were going to get back up. We kind of thought the season was dead and buried but we’ve got a little window to continue,” said Pattinson.<\/p>\n

“Since we’ve announced that we’ve had quite a bit of positive feedback from people letting us know their kids are really excited by it.<\/p>\n

“It’s obviously been a pretty trying time for everyone in the community, so it’s just an opportunity to give the kids a bit of fun and give the parents the chance to relax a bit and watch their kids run around for an hour or so.”<\/p>\n

The sessions will run from 5-6pm, with the club still waiting to see which fields they will be permitted to use.<\/p>\n
