POLICE are investigating the theft of a generator, chainsaw and drill kit from Barwon Heads Fire Brigade station at the weekend.<\/p>\n
Brigade captain Helen Wood said she was devastated to report the fire station was broken into, with a number of items taken, as well as thieves going through drawers and cupboards and making a general mess.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs volunteers who love the Barwon Heads community we are doubly upset that this limited our ability to turn out to incidents in our township and beyond for several hours on Saturday,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cKeeping our community safe is at the heart of why we are members of the Barwon Heads Fire Brigade and this cuts to the core.\u201d<\/p>\n
Captain Wood said she was co-operating closely with police, who were investigating.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope they quickly catch the person or people who did this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Anyone who saw or heard anything unusual in Sheepwash Road over the past few days should contact the police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
