FILMMAKER and RMIT University academic Dr Shaun Wilson will open the North Bellarine Film Festival later this month.<\/p>\n
A Bellarine resident with two feature films in post-production and numerous art films that have been shown in galleries around the world, Dr Wilson\u2019s links to the region made him a natural choice to open the festival, which is being screened from November 17-19.<\/p>\n
Dr Wilson is also chairing a filmmakers\u2019 symposium and bringing a virtual reality lab to the festival as part of the jam-packed weekend of events.<\/p>\n
The program of cutting-edge virtual reality films will be shown via goggles at a free family day on November 18, with a display of drones plus a children\u2019s film. The festival hub will be at the Potato Shed in Drysdale with satellite venues hosting the family day and symposium at Portarlington.<\/p>\n
The short film, Lorne, heads an eclectic list of Australian shorts screening during the festival weekend.<\/p>\n
The program joins a line-up of international feature films and animation.<\/p>\n
A free bus service will shuttle ticket-holders to all evening films.<\/p>\n
