{"id":35334,"date":"2020-10-22T01:00:41","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T15:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=35334"},"modified":"2020-10-22T01:00:41","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T15:00:41","slug":"barwon-heads-reappoint-bacely","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/sport\/barwon-heads-reappoint-bacely\/","title":{"rendered":"Barwon Heads reappoint Bacely"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BARWON Heads Football Netball Club has reappointed senior women\u2019s coach Josh Bacely for the 2021 season, while also looking for new staff to continue developing its women\u2019s football.<\/p>\n<p>Bacely coached the senior team to the Bellarine Football Netball League (BFNL) Senior Women\u2019s Division 2 premiership in 2018, before guiding them to fourth place in Division 1 the following season.<\/p>\n<p>Bacely said he was delighted to be continuing with the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am excited for Season 2021 and beyond. Our players are connected and driven to improve and from a coaching viewpoint, it is great to work with such a group,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking to hit the track shortly so that we can get back together and reunite.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barwon Head\u2019s senior women\u2019s 2019 Best and Fairest Candace Harrison-Smith said the team was delighted to have Bacely staying on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really exciting. He sent all us girls a message earlier on asking if he should reapply, and we were all so happy about it and said \u2018yes\u2019, we all love Josh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2019 the club also fielded a development senior team in Division 2.<\/p>\n<p>Its junior teams have also found success. Last year they had premiership-winning sides in BFNL\u2019s Under 18 Female Division 2 and Under 15 Division 1.<\/p>\n<p>Club president Tim Goddard said the club is now seeking a development coach and a women\u2019s football director to help develop their women\u2019s teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith girls and women\u2019s football burgeoning, these opportunities are a great way to both become involved and to help improve skills, drive belief and to build upon the great culture which exists at the Seagulls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Goddard said the entire club had benefited from the growth of the women\u2019s game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is hard to describe the effect the rise of girls and women\u2019s footy has had on our club but on every level, it has made our club a better place,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Club is seeking interest from those who can help build upon what we have and create an even better future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Enquiries can be made to the club by emailing <a href=\"http:\/\/admin@barwonheadsfnc.org.au\"><b>admin@barwonheadsfnc.org.au<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BARWON Heads Football Netball Club has reappointed senior women\u2019s coach Josh Bacely for the 2021 season, while also looking for new staff to continue developing its women\u2019s football.
