{"id":36659,"date":"2020-12-24T00:19:45","date_gmt":"2020-12-23T14:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=36659"},"modified":"2020-12-24T08:00:22","modified_gmt":"2020-12-23T22:00:22","slug":"santa-portarlington-miniature-railway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/santa-portarlington-miniature-railway\/","title":{"rendered":"Santa lets off some steam in Portarlington"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SANTA Claus puffed into the Bellarine Peninsula on Sunday, taking a break from his busy Christmas schedule for a ride with excited children on the <a href=\"https:\/\/miniaturerailway.com.au\/\">Portarlington Bayside Miniature Railway<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jolly old St Nick made two appearances on Sunday at the railway, which drew more than 330 passengers over the course of the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a startlingly good day, with quite a few people,\u201d PBMR president Brian Coleman said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-47280 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/Untitled-design-24-1-1024x538.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"336\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the first time we\u2019ve had a good tally since we restarted our operations on December 6.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were pleased with the result, and the kids loved it.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_47287\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47287\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-47287\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/Untitled-design-25-1024x538.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"336\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-47287\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Silver Beats also performed at the event.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s something unique about that little railway &#8211; it\u2019s close to the beach, and the only miniature railway that\u2019s close to the foreshore in Australia.
