{"id":3701,"date":"2017-12-11T10:18:05","date_gmt":"2017-12-11T10:18:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=3701"},"modified":"2018-03-06T11:10:18","modified_gmt":"2018-03-06T11:10:18","slug":"represent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/represent\/","title":{"rendered":"REPRESENT"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Bellarine community looks forward to having stronger council voice<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>BELLARINE community groups are looking forward to having their three elected councillors deliver a strong message to the City of Greater Geelong on their behalf.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Asher, Jim Mason and Trent Sullivan will represent the Bellarine Ward for the next three years, and will be sworn-in at a special public council meeting next Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Joint Community Associations of the Bellarine, which comprises 10 community-based groups, was established in July to set up forums to help voters \u201cmeet the candidates\u201d and get their opinions about a number of issues across the Bellarine.<\/p>\n<p>Sandy Gatehouse from the Barwon Heads Association and Deb Sheard from the Portarlington Community Association said they intended to hold the councillors accountable to their election promise of supporting the voice of community across the Bellarine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was clear from the forums that residents expect better performance from councillors, better communication with communities, and more vision for the future,\u201d the presidents said.<\/p>\n<p>For more on the Bellarine Ward councillors-elect, <a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/community-chooses-candidates\/\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bellarine community looks forward to having stronger council voice BELLARINE community groups are looking forward to having their three elected councillors deliver a strong message to the City of Greater Geelong on their behalf.
