<\/p>\nTWEENS, teens and women put their creativity and design skills into action during a jewellery-making workshop in Drysdale at the weekend.<\/p>\n
Kristin Wishart, the owner of Wishart Creative, ran two workshops at Artisans of Australia on Saturday, where each participant got to choose four pieces to design and create from a range of accessories, including necklaces, rings, keyrings, bracelets and hypoallergenic earrings.<\/p>\n
Kristin said the entire process was designed to encourage participants to use their creativity and personality to guide them into creating their own, unique jewellery.<\/p>\n
\u201cEarly last year I took the plunge and rented myself a little studio space at the amazing Artisans of Australia in Drysdale and ran my first, ever, face-to-face jewellery making workshops,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter my first one I knew it was for me and I thrived on teaching tweens, teens and women to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind accessories simply using scraps of preloved fabrics.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Kristin said within a few weeks, COVID hit and she had no choice but to adapt to the new climate and start running her workshops virtually via Zoom instead.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhilst they all went very well, there is nothing like creating with people face-to-face, which is why I am so excited to be back here running them again, in person,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Kristin said since COVID, Artisans of Australia had moved into a brand new building in Drysdale, making it even more exciting.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe space is beautiful, light and airy with a gift shop, art gallery, classrooms and spacious studios for artists to work from,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithin a few weeks it is also set to have its own cafe with locally supplied teas, coffees and cakes.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe entire concept is amazing and I am so thrilled to be involved.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kristin said she already had courses, workshops and school holiday classes lined up and ready to go, including Bizzy Kids, her six-week course guiding and supporting tweens and teens to create their own jewellery business.<\/p>\n
