Port ferry sails through big first year of operation<\/h2>\n

PORT Phillip Ferries is celebrating its first anniversary of crossing the bay between Portarlington and Docklands.<\/p>\n

It has been a big year of business for the captains and the crew, ticking off 910 journeys across Port Phillip and travelling close to 40,000km.<\/p>\n

The service also hosted 2,500 seniors during the 2017 Seniors Week and has spotted five whales, as well as many dolphins, penguins and seals.<\/p>\n

Chief executive officer Murray Rance said the community had shown so much support that the company had added a new service route every Saturday afternoon between Portarlington and Geelong, which would run until Christmas.<\/p>\n
