THE Barwon Heads Art Group is calling on the community and visitors to come and support its upcoming exhibition.<\/p>\n

The group, formally known as the Senior Citizens Art Group, will be holding an Easter Art Show from Good Friday until Monday, April 5.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the exhibit on Good Friday will go towards the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital Appeal.<\/p>\n

Convenor Dorothy Van Dorp said due to COVID, the group had missed out on its Melbourne Cup Art Show last year, so would like to make this upcoming one a success.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are all local artists who have the same interest in painting and over 100 paintings will be on view,\u201d Ms Van Dorp said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have male and female artists in our group and this has been a very successful art group for many years.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur group are all members of the Barwon Heads Senior Citizens and we hold classes at the centre every Thursday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Van Dorp said their mentor was Eileen Batty, who started the group 25 years ago, and it was still going as strong as ever.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to COVID we are hoping that this will be a start to getting things back to normal again,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are asking the local community and visitors to support us by coming along and viewing our work.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Easter Art Show will be held over the four days of Easter, opening at 10am and closing at 4pm.<\/p>\n

On Good Friday, 10 per cent from sales on that day will go towards the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital Appeal.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was very successful the last time we had our Easter Art Show,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
