THE Borough of Queenscliffe council has elected Susan Salter as its new mayor.<\/p>\n
Cr Salter has taken the reins from former mayor Tony Francis as she heads into a one-year term.<\/p>\n
In her acceptance speech, Cr Salter spoke of her long term connections within the local community.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to thank the residents of the Borough for re-electing me last year and trusting me to serve the community,\u201d Cr Salter said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI look forward to working with everyone in the year to come.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cr Salter was elected to council in October 2012 and re-elected for a second term in October 2016.<\/p>\n
She has lived in Queenscliff for nearly 30 years and has been actively involved in a number of community organisations, book groups and community groups.<\/p>\n
Cr Boyce Pizzey was elected as the deputy mayor, also for a one-year term.<\/p>\n
Elected to council in October 2016, Cr Pizzey, his wife Rhonda and their family have enjoyed their property in Queenscliff since the early 1980s.<\/p>\n
The council allocated Cr Salter the Community Wellbeing Portfolio, Cr Tony Francis the Environmental Sustainability Portfolio, Cr Bob Merriman the Governance and Performance Portfolio, Cr Ross Ebbels the Local Economy Portfolio, and Cr Boyce Pizzey the Planning and Heritage Portfolio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
