THE Old Mill in Portarlington was abuzz with excitement at the weekend with artworks by U3A members on display as part of the Northern Bellarine Peninsula Arts Trail.<\/p>\n

More than 80 paintings were on exhibit from the 20-plus members who had been busy during the past year while in lockdown due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Member Cheryl Hilton said U3A had put together a great exhibition, which featured an amazing collection of all mediums, landscapes, seascapes, figure studies and nature studies for arts trail visitors to enjoy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Mill received glowing reports, with nearly 200 people visiting over the weekend and some sales,\u201d Ms Hilton said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome comments were about how well our displays looked and the beautiful atmosphere.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely boosted our moral to hear these reports, as it shows we are holding our own.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Hilton said the U3A artists had something in the works for Seniors Week in October and next year\u2019s Portarlington Mussel Festival.<\/p>\n

The Northern Bellarine Peninsula Arts Trail, which was held on April 10 and 11, was an event for artists on the Bellarine to showcase their work in their own studios, local cafes and galleries, and halls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
